 1. Pengertian Passive Voice

Passive Voice adalah bentuk kalimat di mana subjek kalimat menerima aksi, bukan melakukan aksi. Fokusnya ada pada tindakan dan objek yang dikenai tindakan, bukan pada pelaku.

Contoh:

Active: The teacher explains the lesson.

Passive: The lesson is explained (by the teacher).

2. Fungsi Passive Voice

Passive voice digunakan untuk:

1. Menekankan aksi atau objek daripada pelaku.

2. Jika pelaku tidak diketahui atau tidak penting.

3. Digunakan dalam teks formal seperti laporan, berita, atau karya ilmiah.

3. Rumus Passive Voice

a. Simple Present

Rumus:

Subject + is/am/are + V3 (past participle)

Contoh:

Active: They build a house.

Passive: A house is built (by them).

b. Simple Past

Rumus:

Subject + was/were + V3 (past participle)

Contoh:

Active: She wrote a letter.

Passive: A letter was written (by her).
